I have given regularly masterclasses at the Silpakorn University Bangkok and the Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music Bangkok. I have been also invited to give masterclasses at various renowned music universities in China, Thailand, Brunei, Chile, Panama, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, Denmark, Laos, Indonesia, Mongolia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Tunisia and Turkey. I´m the Head of Department University preparation classical music at the School of Music Berlin Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg.

As a piano teacher, it is important to me to respond to the individual needs of the students and to pass on my experience and enjoyment of the music. Each student, whether child, adult, beginner, advanced student or returnee, receives individualized piano lessons based on their interests, abilities, needs, talents, and goals, using a wide range of music genres.

Another important concern of mine is the promotion of highly gifted young musicians and, in this regard, the preparation for participation in music competitions and study preparation. I also offer online piano lessons for students worldwide. Chamber music lessons are also available.

Student insights

“Caroline’s lessons significantly enhanced both the musical and technical aspects of my piano playing. Her guidance consistently bridged these two areas, allowing me to approach music with greater authenticity.

One key lesson was the importance of actively listening to the balance and details of the sound I was producing. Initially, I struggled to differentiate between what I wanted to express and what was actually coming through. Caroline’s feedback helped me recognize what was happening in my performance, and from there, I learned to listen more critically to my own playing.

What particularly fascinated me was her approach to “reading aloud” music. On occasion, she would share specific German lyrics for phrases in the pieces I played. These words helped me understand how to shape the phrases, as well as the emotions within them. As a Japanese learner, this method was entirely new to me, especially since it is not something commonly addressed in lessons with Japanese instructors. I came to realize that engaging with a piece in the composer’s native language deepens one’s connection to the music.

Another crucial aspect was understanding the specific body movements required for precise execution. Whenever Caroline highlighted areas needing improvement, whether in articulation, phrasing, or balance, she would always provide clear, practical advice on how to adjust my physical movements. At times, the focus was on finger movement alone, while at others, it involved coordinating multiple parts of my body. Her insights were consistently spot-on. While it often took one or two weeks of practice to fully absorb her feedback, the result was a fundamental shift in both my physical technique and emotional engagement with the music. The process was truly eye-opening.

Overall, Caroline’s lessons were rich with insight, greatly improving my performance and deepening my musical understanding. I am incredibly grateful for everything she taught me. Thank you so much, Caroline!”
